Gresham-Barlow School Board fills board vacancy
School board appoints Sharon Garner to position
On July 10 the Gresham-Barlow School District Board of Directors appointed Sharon Garner
to the board to fill a vacancy. Garner serves as a steering committee member of the East Metro STEM Partnership and is also a member of the city of Gresham’s Citizen Involvement Committee. Garner previously worked as a graphic designer. She has two grandchildren attending school in the Gresham-Barlow School District.
The vacancy on the board was created in June when Director Dale Clark resigned from position 6, at-large zone. Clark had three years left on his term. Garner will serve in the position until June 30, 2015. In May, an election will be held for the remainder of the term, which will end June 30, 2017.
Six community members applied to serve on the board. The board made the appointment after an interview process.
