The Gresham-Barlow School District today announced a series of administrative changes for the 2014-15 school year.

Gordon Russell Middle School Principal Bruce Schmidt has been selected to be the new principal of Sam Barlow High School. He replaces Dr. Dave Lovelin who is leaving at the end of the year to work overseas.

Linda Okazaki will become the school district’s elementary education director next school year. Okazaki has 17 years experience working as an elementary school principal in several schools. She spent 12 years as principal of Lincoln Park Elementary School in the David Douglas School District. Prior to that she worked as a principal for two schools in Washington state: Woodland Elementary School and Yale Elementary School. Okazaki also has 17 years of experience working as either a classroom teacher or school media specialist. She has also worked as a Title 1 coordinator. She replaces Anita Harris who will retire at the end of the 2013-14 school year.

Mike Schofield will join the district this July as the new chief financial officer (CFO). Schofield currently serves as CFO for the Forest Grove School District. Schofield has more than twenty years of experience in school finances. In addition to working in K-12 school districts, he has also served as the CFO for an Education Service District.
